Producer Worldwide vacancy at Milky Tea
The studio’s ambition is to become a global entertainment company, focusing on small team development and innovation in a highly creative boutique working environment.
Milky Tea are looking to empower highly ambitious and skilled individuals to help grow the business to that next level. The studio is located in the creative artisan quarter of Liverpool known as the Baltic Triangle. Milky Tea are one of fourteen games businesses located in the area which is littered with coffee shops and micro-breweries. The Baltic Triangle is only 10 mins walk to the renowned Liverpool One Shopping Centre and has great transport links. It’s the perfect location for creatives to work and socialise.
Assist the Production Manager in the day to day management of a game development team, creating PC, console and mobile game products; from concept idea through to launch. Ensuring that these games are developed efficiently, on time, on budget and to an exceptional quality standard.
1. Plan new game projects and develop a production strategy
2. Assign, track and approve production tasks
3. Forecast studio capacity and monitor project expenditure
4. Identify new and Improve existing processes to increase production quality/efficiency
5. Bring the team together to solve production and design problems.
6. Help motivate the team and build and maintain a positive studio culture
7. Produce regular production reports for the Studio Director
Assign day to day production tasks through daily scrums, establish task deadlines and monitor production for quality and efficiency on a daily basis.
Liaise with internal and external teams to obtain and where necessary create a full project brief including all artistic & technical specifications.
Be the primary point of contact for the production team, communicating regularly about project progress and resolving queries or issues as they arise.
Produce detailed production plans, development strategies and regular progress reports for each project, allocating work to team members and ensuring it’s carried out in the most efficient way possible (Time/Cost/Quality)
Brief your team on the project brief and production plan; ensure they clearly understand what is expected of them.
Supervise, support and challenge your team throughout the production process to ensure the brief, deadlines and quality standards are met.
Manage downtime effectively through the planning, scheduling and R&D.
Forecast requirements for additional resources (inc freelancers) to meet the project demands.
Maintain a roster of freelancers covering a wide range of skills to meet skill/resource gaps.
Where necessary and with prior approval of the Studio Director, outsource and manage external resources to fulfil aspects of work.
Using your creative skills and expertise, provide hands-on support for projects when required.
Assisted Team Line Management
Assist your production manager in the line-management responsibilities of your team; record and manage absence, conduct performance reviews and appraisals.
Help motivate your team to ensure maximum productivity, they are happy in their roles and expectations are aligned.
Identify training requirements of team members and plan how needs will be met.
Participate in and run internal brainstorming sessions and game jams to develop creative ideas for new internal and external projects.
Provide clients with creative solutions, proposals and quotations to their brief when required.
Identify opportunities to build new partnerships or collaborations that assist the business
Contribute where necessary to Milky Tea’s annual business strategy and help the business achieve annual sales and targets
Encourage team wide awareness of industry trends and potential opportunities for Milky Tea
When necessary, attend client and publisher meetings and present proposals and production plans
When necessary, represent Milky Tea at exhibitions, events and meetings in the UK and overseas
With the support of management and suppliers, create company letters, contracts and other administrative documents.
Ensure you and your team follows all administrative protocols of the business
Help drive continuous business improvement by identifying, creating and implementing policies, procedures, forms and new processes
Where necessary carry out other none core related duties to help other business functions achieve their objectives e.g. Game Exhibition planning, operations, set up etc.
At least 2 years games industry experience working as a producer or in a production management position
Delivered at least 1 game title during their career
Have a thorough understanding of the game design and development process
Have exceptional planning, project management and task management skills
Be exceptionally well organised and a good communicator
Have experience at working in a team of 5 or more people
Previous line management experience would be beneficial but not essential.
